This rich looking flute is line bored from a solid blank of walnut in lovely shades of dark chocolate browns. It features rings of crushed calcite inlay at the mouth and foot ends. The flute also features my signature hand burned "morning star" with inlaid mother-of-pearl cabochon below the sound hole. The classic style bird block is crafted from walnut with a maple core and sits atop a walnut nest. The block is secured with laces of contrasting deer hide leather. Topped with multiple, hand rubbed coats of 100% natural oil and wax finish for a gentle, warm glow.
This is a beautiful and natural looking flute with a large, full, and loud voice. It plays with a resonant and clear tone, and projects well with great stage presence and excellent backpressure. The overall length is 22" with a 7/8" bore and is very light and weighs 8 oz. It has an easy and comfortable reach for all players.
