Native style, six hole flute in the key of F# minor. Hand crafted from a solid blank of highly-figured rich and dark curly makore wood (also known as African cherry). The classic shaped block is crafted of curly maple with a sappele core, and sits atop an inlaid maple nest. It also features inlaid bands of crushed turquoise at the mouth and foot ends, and my signature hand burned morning star with inlaid crushed turquoise center. The block is secured with laces of contrasting color deer hide. It is finished with many coats of a hand rubbed, natural oil and wax finish.
This strikingly figured flute has a warm, responsive, and mellow character with great stage presence. It has a rich and vibrant voice that projects very well. The overall length is 21" with a 7/8" bore and weighs 9 oz. The flute comes provided with a hand sewn fleece draw string bag for storage and protection. All flutes are shipped Priority Mail with signature required and insurance.
