Bored from a solid blank of stunningly figured dark and warm old growth Honduran mahogany, and trimmed with fully-tenoned end caps of Honduran mahogany sectioned with rings of maple burl and accent rings of padauk and maple at the mouth and foot ends.
The claw style bird/block is made from the old growth Honduran mahogany with a maple burl core on an inlaid mahogany nest, and is secured with contrasting deer hide laces. Finished with multiple coats of hand rubbed, food safe natural oils and waxes. Below the nest is a mother-of-pearl cabochon that centers my hand burned morning star. This nicely balanced flute measures a total of 27" in length with a 1-1/4" bore diameter, and weighs 15 oz.
This is one sexy flute! Tuned to a C minor pentatonic scale the voice is resonant, full, and round, mellow but very responsive and has excellent projection and stage presence. All of my flutes are currently provided with a hand sewn fleece draw string bag for protection. All flutes are shipped U.S. FREE!
