Everyday Hearth & Home Incense Blend

$15.00

This listing is for one 4 oz. (by volume) tin of Everyday Hearth & Home Blend Incense for burning, potpourri, or magical and ritual work. An instruction sheet on smudging is included.

A custom blend of white sage, cedar and special herbs and botanicals for purification, protection and positive energy for your home and sacred space. Smoke cleansing is a recommended and welcome practice on a frequent basis to clear negative or stagnant energy, or to purify the air during and after illnesses of all kinds. Also a wonderful tool to cleanse new items entering your home, or after visitors exit, to neutralize and charge the air with positive energy.

Our very first magical blend! We originally developed this special blend of herbs for our own personal use in our home to calm and cleanse after a long hard workday, a natural mood elevator, and before sacred ceremonies. Our friends, family and visitors loved the scent and the happy and soothing effects so much, we decided to share it with loved ones, and ultimately, the public! We craft and blend our heavenly smudge with our hands in small batches in our sacred space and with loving intent.

Our ingredients are sourced from sustainably harvested sources in North America, including our own land, as much as humanly possible. The main ingredient in our blend is white sage from the desert Southwest, obtained from sustainable sage farms. We include eastern red cedar, juniper leaves, lavender blossoms, yerba santa, and sweetgrass, to encourage uplifting energies.

"The word ‘smudge’ comes from the old English word smogen. It is cited in several dictionaries as coming from 1400-50 late Middle English. It means to smear, blur, obscure, to smother with smoke, to use dense smoke to protect an area from insects. Another meaning is also ‘taken by surprise’. In English the term ‘smudge’ also means smut or dirt. It has been in use since the 15th century, and first appeared after the Norman conquest, so it’s certainly of Germanic origin." - Rachel Patterson
