This striking looking side-blown flute is bored from a solid blank of bright and warm very curly spalted maple. The classic low profile style bird block is crafted from walnut with a maple core, and sits atop an inlaid nest of walnut. The bird is secured with laces of contrasting deer hide leather. It has lovely thick bands of beautifully green crushed malachite stone at the mouth and foot ends with burn rings at either side. The finger holes are offset for a right-handed player for ease of play. The flute also features my signature hand burned "morning star" with inlaid crushed malachite stone center below the sound hole. Topped with multiple, hand rubbed coats of 100% natural oil and wax finish for a gentle, warm glow.
This is a warm and classic looking flute with a delicious and mellow, expressive, vibrant voice. It plays well with great action and excellent backpressure. The overall length is 32" with a 1-1/2" bore and weighs 17 oz. The flute comes provided with a hand sewn fleece draw string bag for storage and protection.
