This stunning looking flute is line bored from a solid blank of lovely highly grained exotic bocote wood, with bands of inlaid jet at the mouth and foot ends. The classic style bird/block is crafted from more bocote wood with an ebony core, and sits atop a bocote nest. The block is secured with laces of contrasting deer hide leather. The flute also features my signature hand burned "morning star" with inlaid jet below the sound hole. Topped with multiple, hand rubbed coats of 100% natural oil and wax finish for a gentle, warm glow.
This is a stunning looking flute with a solid, full, and loud voice. It plays with a very clear tone, and projects well with great stage presence and excellent backpressure. The overall length is 21" with a 7/8" bore and is very light and weighs 9 oz. It has an easy and comfortable reach for all players. The flute comes provided with a hand sewn fleece draw string bag for storage and protection. All flutes are shipped FREE to U.S. with signature required and insurance.
