New Beginnings

Posted December 13, 2011

2011 has been a year of changes for me, personally. New love, new friends, new address, new shop space, and cool, new tools...to mention but a few! After a brief hiatus from flutemaking, I re-established my shop in late summer. At the same time, I invested in some new tools and equipment that I feel will help me take my craft to the next level. With the help and advice of my good friend Jon Norris www.jonnorrismusic.com and the encouragement and loving support of my beautiful partner Dawn, I am now live boring all of my flutes from one solid blank.

Bolstered by wonderful feedback of folks I have met and continue to meet, I have many plans. To name a few, I plan to further experiment with wooden tongue drums, and box cajons turning some latent ideas I have into a musical reality. I have a great inventory of spectacular woods and a large pile of well seasoned bamboo that are begging to be made into flutes. Beyond that we have festivals and events to schedule and plan for in 2012.

I look forward to hearing from, meeting, and working with you in the coming months!
